What is your favorite pattern from your collection & why?
I love the luxe cut velvet pattern called Rivers, especially in the blush colorway. It's a faux bois pattern which means it's a wood grain pattern, and it's named after my niece Rivers. I think this pattern is super chic. It combines all my favorite things a fabric can have...great texture, pattern and color and it bridges the gap between traditional and modern style. Pretty much the perfect fabric in my opinion.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?
I would be a life, health and business coach, and the good news is I already am. I love to teach and mentor other creatives, especially women and I have had a second business of coaching and mentoring other creatives in their businesses for the last 8 years. I recently was certified in life and health coaching to add another layer to my coaching practice and help Creative CEO's design a life and a business they love. It is so rewarding. I am lucky that I get to go both coaching and design.

If you were to pick a song as your anthem, what is it?
Firework by Katy Perry. It really sums up how I love to encourage myself and others to be our best. I think we can all be like a Firework!

If you could live on any movie set, which one would you pick?
I always love the movie sets from Nancy Meyers movies, for example I especially love the Hampton's style house in Something's Gotta Give. But I would also love the New York apartment that Big buys for Carrie in Sex and the city. Have you seen that closet? To die for!

What is the best advice you could give a new designer just starting out?
My best advice would be to get what I call your "financial house" in order. Young designers are always excited about the creative part of their business but not so much the financial part. I know from experience if you want to live your dream career and get paid really well doing it, you have to be committed to running your business in the most professional way possible, starting with the finances.

If you had to choose any other designer to design your home, who would it be and why?
It would definitely be my good friend Amanda Nisbet. She and I share a love of color and pattern and there isn't a room in her portfolio that I wouldn't be thrilled to move into.

If you had a signature color, what would it be?
Kelly Green followed closely by bubblegum pink!

Design trends tend to be cyclical, what trend would you like to see make a comeback?  Which do you wish would never return?
I love a lot of the jewel tones, brass and lacquer from the 1980's. I hope nothing Tuscan or French Country particularly the 1990's versions, come back anytime soon.

What’s on your wish-list right now?
I always love collecting antique oyster plates, original artwork purchased when I travel and Chanel shoes.
