Silk weaving is a marriage of nature and technology, which can truly be considered an art. With this in mind, DURALEE has released SILK ROAD, named after the famous trans-continental trade route linking China to the west through open trade of silk, spices, and other precious materials while bringing people of different cultures together. SILK ROAD is a collection of seven color books of silk designs in patterns and colors that range from transitional to traditional with an emphasis on sophistication.
The seven color books of SILK ROAD, include gorgeous, refined colorways such as Gold/Marcasite, which encompasses rich metallics, burnished golds, and elegant blacks. Natural gemstones with intense hues were the inspiration for Aquamarine/Jade, which features soothing shades of aqua and fashion-forward tones of turquoise. Following the exotic shades of nature, Lavender/Plum incorporates livable and sophisticated lavenders, from warm violet, to frosted wisteria, to deep, royal plum. The neutral, versatile Ivory/Walnut ranges from classic crèmes into chic browns, while wine and roses influence the romantic Rose/Claret, which offers a full range of warm colors from rose, to rust, to burgundy. Serene Celadon/Olive focuses on recent citrus green trends and features the classic, soft hues of the traditional Chinese pottery known as “Celadon”. Cornflower/Indigo takes a typically traditional color family and incorporates it across all styles to create whimsical, yet refreshing and sophisticated designs.
SILK ROAD features designs that include appliquéd florals, embellished styles, and quilted fabrics, as well as classic plaids and stripes. With unique qualities, intricate hand-beaded techniques, documentary designs and high-style, SILK ROAD offers even the most discerning designer silks that are exceptional, yet versatile enough to use for a multitude of applications at a reasonable price range.
