BAY SHORE, New York - Duralee is pleased to announce that Vice President, Amy Benjamin has earned the prestigious LEED Green Associate status. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council to provide a rating system of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. The Green Associate status is a prerequisite to becoming a LEED Associate Professional, and covers an overview of certification in all areas of green building design, including site selection, energy, water, lighting, materials and building reuse. Regarding her achievement, Amy Benjamin states, "I was motivated to learn this material as a business owner so that I can promote environmentally-friendly practices in all levels of Duralee and become more aware of how to further develop our 'green' product lines. It was also important for me to fully understand the various dimensions of eco-conscious design and the challenges that builders, architects and interior designers face when their projects attempt to get LEED certified." DuraleeĀ®, dedicated to providing the building blocks to design, is headquartered in Bay Shore, New York with showrooms nationwide and throughout the world. |
